In this course, we will study five major morphological processes that affect roots and stems and which lead to the production of new words. Those processes are affixation, com-pounding, symbolism, reduplication and suppletion. A. Affixation Blending is the word formation process in which parts of two or more words combine to create a new word whose meaning is often a combination of the original words.
